I just moved into a new home. I have a number of windows with broken parts.... tilt latches, coil balance, locks, etc... I can't find a name on any of the windows.

Can you help identify them so I can order some pieces ?

Thanks for posting. The pivot shoe is the 15-180, which works with Series 190 Coil Balances. If you're unsure of what spring weight to pick, give me the exact weight of the window sash the balances support, and I can work it out for you. For the window lock, please tell me the hole spacing, or the distance between the center of each mounting hole. Finally, for the tilt latches, please remove an undamaged one if available and show us photos of the front and side. We should be able to narrow down what you need. Many thanks.

Hmm... the strongest spring we carry is the S190-940, which carries 9 pounds per spring. Having one of these on each side would give you only 18 pounds of total support. That's 1.4 pounds off, which isn't the end of the world, but you may notice that the window is slightly harder to open.

We can get you 20 pounds of total support, but you'd have to move up to 2 springs per side. That'd be by using two S190-540 springs (5 lbs each), as well as a 15-181 double spring clip and a 15-182 for each extra spring you use.

It's ultimately up to you which way you want to go.
