Series 307 Spiral Balance

Question

How are these type of spiral balances tensioned? I am familiar with the series 400 balances and have the tensioning tool for that style but it doesn't seem as if the 307 would be tensioned in the same way. Please advise.

Hey there,

We appreciate your inquiry! There is no tensioning tool for the Series 307 Balance. You would raise and hold the sash in the up position, bring the spiral with 15-093 up to the sash and before locking the shoe to the sash, turn the spiral by holding the nylon shoe. You'll need to complete three or four clockwise turns.

You will feel the tension building as you do it. Then you'll lock the shoe to the sash and repeat the other side.
